On August 28, during the IOTE 2024 22nd International IoT Exhibition & AGIC General Artificial Intelligence Conference and Industry Expo, the World AIoT Innovation Alliance (WAIA) held its launch preparation ceremony. Representatives from AIoT associations in 15 regions and over 60 global guests from 12 countries, including more than 30 international business guests from countries such as the United States, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Singapore, attended the event.

One of the main initiators of the WAIA alliance, Yang Weiqi, Executive President of the Shenzhen IoT Industry Association and founder of the IOTE International IoT Expo, stated, "The WAIA alliance aims to build an open, cooperative, and win-win platform to fully promote AIoT technology research and innovation, standard formulation, market expansion, and international cooperation, becoming a truly public organization that connects AIoT institutions and key enterprises globally, especially focusing on and supporting the globalization of intelligent IoT enterprises."
